I have a thing for the sun as you can probably tell from my business logo. During the Spring of 2015, I took my boys to Sunriver Observatory to look at the sun through special telescopes. It was extremely fascinating seeing the sun's live atmosphere and gases emitting from the surface. After the viewing the staff volunteer asked where we were from and became very excited to know we were from Madras. He told me that we would be in prime position for the total solar eclipse of 2017. He said that NASA would be coming to Madras and thousands of visitors to see it. That's the first I'd heard of it. Then shortly after that, one of the resorts I worked for sold out completely for the eclipse by a Japanese tour group. So my anticipation has been building for over two years.
There has been a lot of excitement and energy surrounding our community in the years, weeks, and days leading up to this phenomenal event. Today I finally experienced why. You can't truly appreciate it unless you see it with your own eyes. One lady described viewing the eclipse as if she were experiencing the breath of God. I think that could justly describe the feeling that passed over my skin and through my body during the two minutes of totality. I myself was speechless. Here are the photographs I was fortunate enough to capture of this wonder of nature. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

When was your last open air massage? Book your 60 minute Sunshine Massage with aromatherapy out in the gazebo today: I will not be offering this spa specialty again until next summer so don't miss out on this open air escape. I'm so happy to finally have the sun shining again. We all love the sun right? But the sun just loves to give us premature wrinkles and age spots. May is skin cancer awareness month. And did you know that Central Oregon has one of the highest new skin cancer rates in the country? Go on out there and keep loving that sun. Just remember to use protection. Slather on your sunscreen friends. It makes a HUGE difference (see video below). Just a friendly reminder from your neighborhood Esthetician. So now that I've convinced you to put on your sunscreen, here's a good way to select it: Don't forget to reapply. Stay beautiful out there friends!
After working at resort spas, day spas, and an athletic club spa, I decided to open my own spa studio in order to offer luxurious spa services at affordable prices. One of the frustrations I ran into while working for other companies was a lack of being able to provide all the little "details" that make up a quality spa treatment without being expected to charge more. Another frustration was that the services were so expensive that it was hard for clients to come in as often as they needed to. But by bringing it all together into my own spa, I'm now able to offer more care with each service at less of a cost to my wonderful clients. More care, less cost. The evolution of the studio was dramatic. What started as a bonus/storage room with forest green carpet and bright orange walls has evolved into a therapeutic spa sanctuary I'm so proud to share with you. Thank you all for your support. You are VERY appreciated. I look forward to relaxing you when you come in for your next escape. Introducing your new spa sanctuary:
